Corrosion resistance is assured by hard-anodized steel pedestal tubes, stainless steel springs and bases which are bead-blasted and clear-coated to close the aluminum's porosity. Slider has gear-tooth lock mechanism which locks solidly but disengages easily. It rides smoothly on acetal linear bearings.
